Trusting God – A Review

trustingGod

Need a fresh way to regain your faith in God? Well this book can help you do just that. Trust is the big word and the best way to do just that. Hard to trust when one is suspicious of the outcome or reliability of the other person. Can’t we all just believe that God will take care of us? That’s the message of this book, written by three wonderful authors, Sharon Jayne’s, Gwen Smith, and Mary Southerland.
Life experiences that we can all relate to are included in the book to demonstrate how trust is important in any relationship. I love the comment by Sharon Jayne’s’ son, Steven, who says something to effect, that God may just want her to have only one child. How awesome is that? You see, Sharon and her husband had been trying to have more children.
Other examples such as getting up the nerve to do something you are uncomfortable with but have to do. Speaking in public anyone? ( pg 155) And knowing that someone will be there for us without any hint of hesitation. (see page 102) Stories from the Bible are also inserted such as Moses being called upon to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt! Of course he gives all sorts of excuses as to why he can’t. Sound familiar?
The authors leave space for you to add your own thoughts and verses to read and prayer to say each week that you read the book. It’s a twelve week Bible Study that is definitely worth reading. Great job, Girlfriends in God! Now about that chocolate!
I received this free copy from Waterbrook Press in exchange for reviewing it.
